How to become a user at the MRC Laboratories

xxxx1. Contact the NNIN coordinator member for MRC at UT, Dr. Marylene Palard
xxxx(marylene@mer.utexas.edu), to evaluate the feasibility of your project regarding the
xxxxMRC AT UT capabilities and cross-contamination issue.

xxxx2. Submit the MRC at UT Project Proposal Form, to describe the experiment
xxxxthat you want to do in MRC at UT cleanroom.

xxxx3. Complete the MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (To be built: Laboratory Policy, IP,
xxxxLiability, fees, limit access) between your institution and MRC at University of Texas at Austin,
xxxxfor non –UT academic and industrial users. Return this document to Maylene Palard, fax 512-471-8575.

xxx 4. Complete administrative steps for physical access and safety training: You will acquire a UT Electronic ID,
        an ID card, parking permit, and receive onsite specific safety training.

xxxx5. For non-academic users, schedule equipment training with Marylene Palard (marylene@mer.utexas.edu),
xxxxfor each equipment you want to use. Once you demonstrate your ability to run the equipment you will have
xxxxaccess to operate this tool (name and password) via the Lab-access system. For remote users,
xxxxcomplete and submit a work schedule.

xxxx6. Local housing information can be found here. For additional information regarding Austin or UT,
xxxxplease email Marylene.

xxxx7. In order to perform your monthly invoice, you need to provide Jean Toll (j.toll@mer.utexas.edu) the
xxxxfollowing information: Account Number, Professor or PI name, email address and phone number.

 

NOTE: When you are finished with your project, you MUST turn your keys in to the facilities office, 1.108 - see either Joyce or William.
